The best game you never heard of – Family Business

When it comes to family game night or couple’s night, I don’t know about you, but we usually gravitate to a few old standbys. We were surprised recently when some friends of ours had never heard of Family Business, and I thought: How many other people have never heard of what I believe is the best card game ever?
Family Business is a card-based game created a few decades ago by Mayfair Games. Each player gets control of a mob and the point is to kill all the members of the competing mobs. The game is very easy to understand and you will be up and playing in a few minutes, but be careful – the game can change in an instant! If everyone sees that one person is defenseless they may all gang up on them. If I had to come up with a negative, it would be that some people may take it too personally when being ‘targeted’. We just tell them to wait out the storm and a good deal of the time they take the offensive next game.
I also haven’t mentioned the best part – I found the game re-released for $17. In a time when most board games are $24.99-$39.99 this is a rare gem about which I say, “GO OUT AND BUY NOW.”
Tip: Always have your hand on the “finger” card when it’s not your turn. You’ll thank me once you try the game.
Update: You can buy it at Amazon.com for $14.70
